Hope & Healing With Plants will also Introduce nature within urban, and suburban, communities that are lacking in green spaces, and will assists in developing a passion for plant husbandry, conservation, and decreasing our carbon footprint.

Program Description

WHAT is Hope & Healing with Plants?

Hope and healing with plants is a program that teaches individual's, how to successfully maintain plants, flowers, and herbs for everyday use. Also, to introduce gardening to suburban and urban communities that may not have the opportunity to connect with nature through the process of horticulture.

WHY is Hope & Healing With Plants Important?

We aim to help individual's gain knowledge, receive education, and develop awareness towards all things green and natural.

This program will rejuvenate the five senses of touch, smell, taste, hearing, and seeing. The most rewarding part of this program is that the everyone will walk away with the knowledge of cultivating a relationship with nature, and nurture healing within themselves.

It is a known fact that working with greenery has a therapeutic and soothing effect on those who actively participate with earth. This is a wonderful opportunity for all who participates in this program.

WHEN does Hope & Healing With Plants operate?

Hope & Healing With Plants operates during the the peak seasons of spring, summer, and early fall. During the winter months, mosts plant species will go dormant, and the ability to seed, propegate, and plant, are limited.

WHO would be interested in Hope & Healing With Plants?

Everyone! Since the beginning of time, man has cultivated, forage, planted, and eaten from the earth. The desire to grow your own plants, and to take pride in ones own plant husbandry is an innate desire once it is activated. Not only does hplant husbandry enlist plants and flowers for survival, but for the beautification of one's home, and even gardening shows.

WHAT does Hope & Healing With Plants Provide for the individual?

We provide a hands on program that walks the apprentice through various methods of gardening, herbalism, and plant maintenance applications. We also provide an outdoor recreational and educational experience.

These  applications consists of:

•Outdoor Gardening In Containers & Greenhouse Gardening

This program will provide all of the tools needed in order to grow outdoor flowers and plants in potted containers. Container gardening is extremely popular, and is perhaps the easiest way to cultivate and maintain plants.

The Matrix of Container Gardening:

1. Use the proper soil amendments

2. When to water

3. Fertilize their plants and flowers

4. Repot and propegate

5. Maintain a greenhouse

6. Grow plants from seeds

7. When to plant for the seasons

8. How to deal with pests.

These are my plans, and I am looking forward to organizing, and creating a space for folks to come and share ideas, as we learn from one another.  This will be locally for folks in my community. I hope to create an online source, to be used as a guide for others who may desire to create a similar program. 🙏🌾💚

Red Rasberry Leaf

(Rubus idaeus, Rubus strigosus)

The only herb I recommend for pregnant women is Red Rasberry Leaf at 32 weeks of pregnancy, one cup a day if desired. Red Rasberry Leaf is safe, healthy for mom and baby, and it is a known beneficial reproductive herb. Not only is this wonderful herb great for chilbearing, its also beneficial for postpartum.

Red Rasberry Leaf is a great source of magnesium, iron, and niacin. It eases morning sickness, lowers blood sugar, and assists in the production of breast milk.

Overall, Red Rasberry Leaf is safe for men, women, and children. You may make a simple tea to sip on, or create an herbal infusion filling a quart mason jar half full of the herb, and topping off the jar with boiling water. Let it steep for a few minutes, then drink. Refridgerate for up to three days.  Please use a mason jar. It hold heat very well and will not shatter.

IMPORTANT!

If you are pregnant, please consult your physician, or skilled herbalist before using herbs/herbal formulations. Some herbs stimulate the uterus, and my cause complications. 🙏🌾💚

MATERIA MEDICA SNIPPET Another one of my go to herbs I keep in my arsenal

DANDELION: (Taraxacum officinale)

An unsung hero of herbs.

This copious yet often times nuisance to lawns, is a powerhouse herb.

The whole plant from the root to the flower is edible, and contains components that fights cancer cells, regulates blood sugar, boosts the immune system, assists the digestive tract, and fights cholesterol. You can even create wine with Dandelion.

It's amazing THAT YAH has given us a plant that is so abundant, and touches on what our body needs. Before you grab the weed killer, remember, this natural medicinal was designed to give you good health and longevity. 🌾💚

Seek Your Medical Practitioner First

I recieve emails from time to time, from folks asking whether its ok for them to stop using their prescribed medications, in order to use natural methods of healing.

My answer is this. Unless you get the ok from your doctor, this includes a certified naturopathic doctor (ND), then proceed under their guidance and instructions.

I understand that in this millennia, we have become health conscious, and we have garnered knowledge of being self sustaining when it comes to our health. Consider the fact that many in western society are using some sort of prescribed drug. These drugs are extremely powerful, and often times takes time for the body to wean itself from its side effects.

Many of the corticosteroids such as your "sone" drugs, i.e. Deltasone, Prednisone, and other anti-inflamatory drugs, must be taken under a doctor's care, and if your doctor weans you off of these meds he will usually lower the dosage in intervals.

As an herbalist, it is my job to inform and educate you on the herb, and how they will serve you, as well as how they help with healing from ailments you may be dealing with.

I can create different herbal methods for you to use, but I will insist that you talk with your doctor, as some herbs will interact with certain drugs.

Be cautious of folks who tell you to get off of your medications immediately, and take herbal remedies only. Again, your body has adapted to these medications, and to go cold turkey can be harmful to you, and may cause other medical issues to arise.

If you have anymore questions, or if you would like a one on one consultation, please feel free to email me, and I will be more than happy to serve you. Peace and blessings. 💚🌱

Prurigo Nodularis or Nodular Prurigo

Itchy, itchy, itchy!!!!!

Lumps or nodes on the skin that randomly flares up. Often times, individuals who suffer from eczema are susceptible to pruigo nodularis.

Extreme itching

Pain

Laceration

Burning sensation.

Redness

Sometimes lesions may be associated with

bleeding

Skin discoloration

Habitual picking at nodual scabs

Possible Triggers:

Alcohol and Smoking

Rainy season

Skin sensitivity

Exposure to any chemical product

Scratching

Weak immune system

Also, this skin issue is one that you can relieve through diet, removing stress, and keeping your skin moist. Use topical anti-itch medications, and I suggest Tea Tree Oil as one of many alternative methods. Keep your skin clean, and covering the lessons with a hydrocolloid dressing will help tremendously.

Hydrocolloid dressings keep the lesions from rubbing and getting irritated, and they also assists in healing the skin faster. Depending on the severity, it may take up to 6 months or more to heal when using Hydrocolloid dressings. The other great thing is that these dressings ease itching and burning. The urge to pick and scratch are lessened. 💚🌱
